Week 3 / 5
Developing Spiritual Gifts
Spiritual gifts don’t show up fully formed—they grow as we walk with God. This week is about leaning into that growth, listening to the Holy Spirit, and beginning to practice what He’s placed in you. Through scripture, reflection, and small steps of action, you’ll start to see how your gifts can be developed and used to serve others. You don’t need to have it all figured out—just stay open, willing, and ready to grow.

Developing spiritual gifts
Note to the group: This week’s group session offers a variety of questions for discussion. Depending on time and how your group is engaging, feel free to adjust which questions you choose to discuss and which may not be necessary for your group. These questions are designed to help guide a deeper discussion but are not meant to feel burdensome or overwhelming. Use discernment and follow the Holy Spirit’s leading as you navigate the conversation together.
Opening: Prayer & Reflection
Begin with a time of prayer, inviting the Holy Spirit to guide and teach.
Discussion: Reflecting on last week’s practice
- How was last week’s practice?
- What did you discover through your time with the Holy Spirit?
Read together
"For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands. For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control."
"Let no one despise you for your youth, but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity. Until I come, devote yourself to the public reading of Scripture, to exhortation, to teaching. Do not neglect the gift you have, which was given you by prophecy when the council of elders laid their hands on you. Practice these things, immerse yourself in them, so that all may see your progress. Keep a close watch on yourself and on the teaching. Persist in this, for by so doing you will save both yourself and your hearers."
